How do I use this website?
Browse our catalog online: Click on courses on the menu bar to the left. Browse by content area, or search by title, instructor, or dates. Full course descriptions, teacher biographies, directions, and other pertinent course information can be accessed by clicking on the blue links.

Request a printed catalog: Click on the image in the top left to provide us with your mailing address and we will send you a catalog.

Sign In: If you are new to our site, you will need to create a new student profile. Creating a profile will provide you with your own personal, password-protected account. Having an account will allow you to register online and track your course selections. Click on sign in on the menu bar to the left and follow the prompts.

Items in blue are required information. Please choose a login that you will remember easily. The demographic information is optional, and is used by the College strictly for planning and statistical purposes. You will receive a copy of your profile via email.

After you have created a student profile (and on subsequent visits when you sign in), you will notice additional menu options that will allow you to edit your profile, check your current registrations, and view your transactions.

Register Online: Browse through the catalog and click the boxes next to the classes that you are interested in; then add them to your shopping cart. Follow the directions to complete your registration at our secured site with your credit card. You will receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.

How do I know if there is space available? If a class is already filled, there will be a message indicating the class is full and you will have the option to place yourself on a waiting list.

Can I register a friend or family member? No, your friend or family member must create their own account and register with their own profile.

When can I register?
You can register for any class you have the option to add to your cart.  If a class is listed and not open for registration, a message will appear indicating the date it will open or that the class is full.  Register EARLY to guarantee a space in the class!

How can I register?
Online: You can register here at NHCC's Continuing Education and Customized Training's website. If you have questions, please refer to the Frequenty Asked Questions page. If you don't find your answer, email us.

By mail: Mail your completed registration form with check payable to North Hennepin Community College or credit card information to: NHCC-AET, 7411 84th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445.

By fax: Fax your completed registration form with credit card information to (763) 424-0889.

By phone: Call in your registration with a credit card to (763) 424-0880 Monday - Thursday 8:00am to 7:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm.

In person: NHCC's Continuing Education and Customized Training is located in the Center for Business and Technology (CBT) building on the NHCC campus. The campus is located at the corner of 85th Ave. N. and West Broadway in Brooklyn Park, MN. Our office is open Monday - Thursday, 8:00am to 7:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Please plan to pay with a check or credit card if possible. Cash transactions will only be accepted by the Accounting and Fees office.

Non-sufficient Funds Fee: If checks are returned due to non-sufficient funds (NSF), account closed, or a stopped payment, a fee of $30 is assessed for each check.

What type of credit cards can I use?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.

Can an organization be billed for my registration?
Third Party Registrations: If you would like us to bill a company for a minimum registration of $100, your registration must accompany an official company or NHCC prior authorization form. Please contact (763)424-0880 for assistance.

Late Fee: A late fee of up to $50 may be charged if payment is not received before the due date on the invoice.

Do I need to purchase any books?
Books are included in the cost of your class and will be provided to you when you arrive for class.

Are there any discounts available?

  • Students who register for an entire certificate receive a 15% discount at the time of registration.
  • Employers receive a 10% discount when three or more employees register for the same class at the same time.
  • Senior citizens who are legal residents of MN and 62 years of age or older may register for continuing education classes and have the class fee waived, provided there is space available in the class. Purchase of any required books for the class may be required.
  • Any other discounts will be noted by each class.

Is there financial assistance available?

How do I access my online class or certificate program?
If you registered for a class offered online through Ed2Go, you will access your class through this site by doing the following:

  • Log into your account at http://northhennepin.augusoft.net
  • Click on the Registrations menu link on the left
  • Locate the class and click it's corresponding 'Go To Class' link

If you registered for a career certificate offered online through Gatlin, you will receive an email from Gatlin with instructions on how to access your classes.  If you do not receive the email from Gatlin, please contact us to have it resent.

Where are classes held?
Continuing education classes are held in the Center for Business and Technology (CBT) building on the NHCC Campus at 7411 85th Ave. N., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Parking is FREE for students. Enter the east parking lot off 85th Ave.; the CBT is the last building on the right. Enter through the main doors and take an immediate right.

Will I receive a reminder once I register for a class?
You will receive a confirmation email for each class you register for, as well as a receipt for the entire transaction. You will also receive another email prior to your class as a reminder. We make every attempt to call our students as well, but do not guarantee that we will always do so, therefore please mark your calendar when you sign up for classes.

What if I have a scheduling conflict?
Scheduling conflicts should be addressed by calling our office at (763) 424-0880.  All schedule changes must be done no later than three full business days before the class start date.  No refunds or transfers with less than three full business days notice.  There is a $15 fee for each cancelled class. Additional fees may be charged for cancellation of online classes. 

Missed Classes: Refunds will not be issued for any missed classes.

Late Arrivals: We reserve the right to reschedule students who arrive more than 15 minutes late to class.

The college reserves the right to cancel, postpone, and reschedule class offerings and locations and substitute instructors when necessary. Should a class be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, a full refund will be given.

What should I bring to class?
Our classrooms can sometimes be too warm or cool. For your comfort, we recommend that you dress in layers or bring a light jacket with you to class.

Can I record my class?
No audio or video tape recording during classes without prior permission from CECT and the instructor.

Are there accomodations for disabled students?
NHCC aims to provide students with documented disabilities, equal access to continuing education. If you are a student with a disability, please enroll during "early bird" registration and contact us regarding what assistance you may need. Can I retake a class?
We offer students who have taken a Microsoft Office class one free refresher per class. Restrictions: The refresher class applies only to non-credit, continuing education Microsoft Office classes. The refresher class must be taken with the same software version, textbook and within one year of the original class date and is subject to space availability. If a student fails to attend a refresher class without the proper cancellation notice, we reserve the right to limit future refresher class registrations for that student.

What happens if there is severe weather when I have a class?
For campus closing information due to inclement weather, please call (763) 488-0488, visit the NHCC website, or tune into WCCO Radio 830AM, WCCO Channel 4 or KSTP Channel 5.

Do I get college credit or continuing education units for my class?
Classes offered through NHCC's Continuing Education department are non-credit classes. Students will receive continuing education units (CEU's). The CEU is a nationally recognized measurement of non-credit course work. One CEU (1.0) may be awarded for each ten hours of participation in an approved program. We keep a permanant record of participation in our programs, issue a certificate to acknowledge successful completion of the program, and provide official transcripts to you and your employer by request.
